The 65th year of the International Roofing Expo (formerly known as the NRCA Convention) was celebrated February 4-6, 2020 in Dallas, Texas, and iRoofing was there to show off its wares…software, that is!
The iRoofing team was represented by nine of its finest… Daniel Meridor and Oded Shemla, co-CEOs and co-Founders of iRoofing and co-Founder Shai Cohen were among the roofing software pioneers attending the show. Bradley Baecker, Joshua Gless, Chris Hewson, Kelley Hernandez, Roxanne Matta, and Jasmine Sacon were other iRoofers who traveled out to Dallas for the big event.
iRoofing’s booth, festooned with giant dinosaur graphics tempting contractors to evolve or go extinct, drew a steady stream of visitors whose fascination with roofing technology energized the whole team. Patrons had their picture taken in front of the dinosaurs while a smoldering cloud of smoke rose behind them, adding to the primordial ambiance. The reptilian theme also applied to iRoofing’s trucker hats and t-shirts, handed out for free! Roofing pros also walked away with truck stickers designed to communicate that they’re “Hi-Tech Contractors.”
“Our clients had a lot of positive things to say about iRoofing’s latest enhancements, especially its new smartphone versions of the app, its roof project estimation tool, and upcoming game-changers like iRoofConnect, a cloud solution. iRoofing also had an opportunity to show roofing pros a feature we debuted in 2019—Clearoof™. This valuable feature gives contractors high-resolution aerial images as an option to our satellite imagery,” said Daniel Meridor.
iRoofing’s booth was next door to the Catalyst Group where Meridor spent time catching up with Liz Sieling and Troy Clymer, the CFO of Balance Claims LLC and the president of the non-profit think-tank. “The panel discussions organized by Catalyst Group during IRE were important because they served to educate contractors about growth opportunities and tools that can help them run their businesses more effectively and profitably. I think everyone enjoyed them,” said Meridor.
Chris Hewson, iRoofing’s National Account Manager, took center stage at the Catalyst Group’s Technology Panel and Measurement Panel. “It’s amazing to see how many roofing technology tools are coming into the market. We’re proud to have been the first to offer a suite of DIY tools for roofers. We stay ahead of the pack by constantly innovating the digital measurement, estimating and simulation processes,” said Hewson.
“So many people we spoke with still don’t use technology in their measurement and sales process. They came to IRE to find new opportunities, ideas, and tools to benefit their business. Many still use manual tape measures to do takeoffs or they spend a lot of money on 3rd party roof reports. Those attending IRE were really impressed with the level of accuracy they could get with DIY digital measurements,” said Kelley Hernandez who spearheads iRoofing’s marketing efforts.
Bradley Baecker, one of iRoofing’s Senior Account Managers, was able to connect with many of the company’s current clients during the show. Baecker provided some helpful on-site training of iRoofing’s newest features, like its parapet wall measurement tool and recent enhancements to its professional roof reports. “I feel like I know so many of my customers already from the training and support I do by phone, but nothing takes the place of meeting them in person,” said Baecker.
The iRoofing team had a great time at the Polyglass event which took over the House of Blues in Dallas’ bustling Victory Park neighborhood. “We’ve worked closely with Polyglass in recent years. The House of Blues was a cool atmosphere for meeting our colleagues and competitors,” said Oded Shemla.
Atlas Roofing, another close associate of iRoofing, also attended IRE in Dallas. Atlas has been a leading roof material manufacturer for 35 years. Other brands at the show included Certainteed, GAF, Owens Corning, Tamko, IKO, and Boral to name just a few. The products of all leading roofing manufacturers are contained in iRoofing’s digital catalog which is integrated with the app’s Estimator, Visualizer, and material ordering tools.
The team enjoyed meeting roofing professionals from around North America but especially those from right there in the Lone Star State. Next year’s IRE will take place in Las Vegas and iRoofing is already planning on making another huge splash!
