Day 2 at the IRE was cold, but that did not stop the iRoofing squad from putting boots on the ground. Day one was a success, so we were excited to see what we had in store on day 2.
Another thing we saw was that there was a record number of people that attended the IRE. It was packed and full of enthusiastic energy! The expected numbers were 14,500 roofing professionals and more than 600 suppliers, which looks like the number was surpassed. The good thing is that the expo expected this, prepared well, and offered more events. Here are some of the ones we liked.

- NRCA Student Competition: The National Roofing Contractors Association hosted its annual student competition, where teams from various universities presented their roofing project proposals, showcasing their skills and knowledge in front of industry experts.

- Coffee Conversations LIVE: for those roofers that love RoofersCoffeeShop®, we go the chance to see a hosted live session discussing sustainability innovations, emerging technologies, workforce challenges, and economic impacts in the roofing industry, providing actionable insights for attendees. - Exhibitor Showcases: Companies like IKO unveiled new products and innovations. IKO introduced its “Tomorrow’s Roof Today” theme, featuring a refreshed brand identity and enhanced product lines, including new color options and impact-resistant shingles.
Highlights from the NWIR Meeting at IRE 2025
We wanted to spotlight the NWIR because our roof industry superstar, Jasmine Sacon, is a member of this groundbreaking organization. The NWIR has a great quote they use to inspire, and Jasmine is an excellent example. Like all the women we have the pleasure of working with in iRoofing.

So this year, the National Women in Roofing (NWIR) hosted their annual NWIR Days 2025 conference on February 16-17, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. This empowering event provided roofing women invaluable networking, education, and professional development opportunities.
Event Highlights
- February 16: The conference opened with mindfulness activities such as a book club discussion and yoga. Later in the evening, attendees enjoyed the unique “Dinner in the Caverns” experience at Natural Bridge Caverns, Texas’s most extensive cavern system, where they dined in the stunning Hidden Wonders Ballroom deep underground.
- February 17: The second day featured a keynote presentation by comedian Katie Goodman titled “Improv for the Spirit: How to Focus on Leading a Courageous and Spontaneous Life.” Attendees also participated in 32 breakout sessions on leadership, marketing, and technical roofing skills, with several sessions available in Spanish to support the growing Latina presence in the industry.

NWIR honored outstanding individuals and councils for their contributions:
- WORLD Award Veteran: Rachel Garcia, Director of Contractor Services at Malarkey Roofing, was recognized for her leadership and industry impact.
- Rising Star Award: Sarah Sutton-Shouse, Service Manager at Raincoat Roofing in Chicago, received this award for her innovative contributions to the industry.

A New Venue for Deeper Connections
This year, the NWIR Days conference took place at the Grand Hyatt Riverwalk, a shift from its usual location within the International Roofing Expo (IRE) venue. This change allowed for a more intimate setting, fostering stronger connections among the 500 attendees.
